Officer Bryan Horst
K9 Nikita became a member of the Warren Twp. Police Department in October 2020. K9 Nikita is a German Shepherd, who attended the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K9 Academy Patrol School from October 2020 to February 2021, and Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics School from February 2021 to May 2021, completing over 1,080 hours of training.
K9 Nikita is assigned to Officer Bryan Horst who has been employed with the Warren Township Police Department since 2003 and is the department’s first K9 handler. Officer Horst and K9 Nikita respond to numerous calls for service within Warren Township and throughout Somerset County assisting with suspect/missing person searches, narcotics investigations, and article searches.
